Yes. But you don't have to put a kid in an elevated lift to film practice during a wind advisory.
Teams certainly don't do that anymore. Not sure how often it would happen before the kid died under Kelly's watch.

Brian Kelly didn't do that, the head football coach doesn't oversee the student video crew, the athletic department does.
Their video coordinator made the decision to use lifts that day, he also advised the students not to raise them above a certain threshold.
It's interesting that no one ever blames him, the athletic director, or president of the university.
