That might be a stretch. His HC and also his dad, Press Maravich in his 6 seasons as LSU's HC had an overall losing record (76-86) and a losing SEC record (45-63).

His predecessor, Dale Brown really put LSU basketball on the map. Took LSU to two Final Fours.

True, but HE'S the reason LSU built a new arena (then known as the LSU Assembly Center). It was called 'The House That Pete Built' and of course, eventually renamed the PMAC.
Pete ignited new interest in basketball at a football school. Hence the PMAC and hiring of Dale Brown - who would lead LSU to two Final Fours and seven Sweet 16s.
