I like no divisions with a 9 game conference schedule with 3 permanent opponents.

It allows teams to play every SEC opponent twice in a 4 year window (while playing the permanent ones every year). It preserves rivalries while making the conference a single unit rather than two divisions that rarely play each other.

The division set up made it so teams rarely played the teams from the other division. UGA and A&M have only played once since A&M joined the SEC. It doesn't really feel like they're in the same conference.
