Austin mainly grew because of talent pool, business friendly tax breaks to lure major corporations, good vibes/creativity & the scenery of hill country.

That allure has since faded due to high housing costs, traffic & poor city leadership. It’s the surrounding suburbs which are actually booming. Williamson County is likely to pass Travis in both population and worth by 2030.

guess the political makeup of the major corporations who are offered those tax breaks, after all the strings are pulled
