No, it couldn't.
The laws we have in place don't allow it.
Our laws most definitely allow us to stop people illegally crossing our borders.
To claim otherwise is pure ignorance.
You obviously never crossed before the Democratic Party filth opened it up.

But what they define as legal may surprise you. The process for asylum in our laws is basically set up so that anyone claiming asylum, even if it's clearly not warranted, basically gets free entry into the US for years. That's how the laws are now.
A big part of the bill that was passed rebuilt the asylum process to be much faster so that those who don't warrant it would be sent home much faster. It also allowed emergency powers to deny asylum seekers entry in special circumstances, something that doesn't exist now.
Our current laws allow for parole for criminals who also are illegal immigrants. The new bill eliminated that existing loophole.
It also increased the number of border security positions by a huge amount. The current funding makes it impossible to stop illegal crossings due to simple manpower issues.
Biden's administration is setting records for deportations (according to CATO, which is not liberal). With the bill passed, it would go even higher. He's not exactly an open-border Democrat.
I'll be abandoning this thread though as me continuing just makes things even more political and I really don't want this board to get destroyed by politics. I came here because it was a UGA related thread. It's been derailed into politics and needs to be locked.
