That makes way more sense than just kicking him to the curb. I hate Alabama with the heat of a million suns but nothing Alabama has ever been accused would be as cruel as to simply kick a legend to the curb because he lost a step doing a job that fans loved him doing and really isn't that important in the overall scheme. Him going scorched earth is a BAD look for a legend....

Georgia fans well remember going through a similar experience with the end of Larry Munson’s tenure. Although we didn’t non-tender him and cut him loose as Bama seems to have done with Eli Gold.
