Basketball has a pretty random championship model that introduces more possibilities for bad nights and bad matchups. All you can do is keep on aiming for a top 4 seed and hope for the best. Oats seems to have a model for producing those types of teams in the eyes of the committee.

I don't think this years' team has what it takes for a deep run because of the front court. Physical teams in the tournament will deal them a fit. Oats has to recruit a bruiser or two.

But you never know. Get hot and keep getting there and they will break through some time. They play the best teams so theyve seen them before.

Can Bama win an ugly 69-67 game? Cause that’s what you’re gonna get in the tournament. We know they can score in bunches, especially from three, but do they have that enforcer? Bama could make a FF, or they could lose in the second round. That said, that would be true for any team except for maybe Houston and UCONN. Interesting to note that out of nine 100 point games for Bama under Oats, four of them have come against LSU (I think).

I also don't think this is a REAL contender like last year's team. This is the type of team that could go home quick or have a fun few games before running into someone that can score but also play defense.
