This is for real. The original costume mascot. It had a fiberglass head with tiny eye holes that rendered the wearer nearly blind.

It was said to make children cry and The Bear was quoted as saying... "Keep that God Damn thing away from me."

Looked like a pig with horns and an elephant snout.

Created and worn by Mel Espy who later participated in the design and introduction of Big Al.

It had sort of a Satanic flavor like Pazuzu from the Exorcist.



Should mention that there was once a live elephant. Back in the 40s. And they rented a few after they gave that one up.

Here is a later one that I have no info on. I'm hoping it is just a fan or student's homemade outfit.



Unfortunately it was a TV game. We set back recruiting that day.

Just as likely because there was a grown arse white man in saddle oxfords inside.
