What do you mean stepping stone? Nothing is a destination for coordinators.

I don't think this was a stepping stone for Grubb. Grubb was upfront with Deboer and with our AD. He wanted to remain in Washington because his wife/family really did not want to move. He wanted either Seattle or UW. He went for the UW job and didn't get it. He didn't get the Seattle OC until Kelly took the OSU job. He was the backup plan to Kelly.

Unfortunately for him, the most likely path is that he will fall on his face and be fired next year. He has had no real success without DeBoer, has zero experience in the NFL, and if the Seahawks have a bad record next year, he will be the scapegoat.
