There's already a statue of him.

Stallings, Thomas, Wade, and Bryant all have statues and all have something named after them on campus. Stallings and Wade have streets; Thomas has the baseball stadium named after him; and Bryant has the stadium and the street named for him.

It's tradition to honor our legendary coaches with something more than just a statue.

Is 1987 your birthdate? That would explain a lot.

There's a shite ton of tradition and winning before 1987.

Well, we also named a street after a coach who only finished higher than 3rd in the SEC once in his 8 years. And a campus building named for an unimaginably bad one term governor. We don't exactly have the highest bar for tossing around naming honors.

We'd better get Saban's name on 15th St before Robert Bentley dies and some morons get his name on there.
