If the NCAA does go away at some point, who is going to run all of the championships/tournaments that they directly run?

The NCAA tournament is the property of the NCAA. It is a very lucrative property...they will never relinquish it. I think the same is true of the CWS...I think it belongs to the NCAA but I could be wrong. They own, I think, the Division 2 and 3 CFB playoffs, but again I could be wrong. I doubt they ever relinquish control of those. They very well may be on the brink of cutting about 30% of DIV 1 football programs lose while the remaining 70% agree to some form of NCAA regulation as well as a playoff system which actually crowns a champion of that division that is recognized by the NCAA. The other 30% are headed for some form of semi pro league loosely associated with a University and until they find a way to regulate that league legally it will be a continuation of the wild wild west....and fans will be lamenting the lack of regulation while simultaneously complaining of any regulation.

The same entity that runs everything now - ESPN.
