Aside from some of our Rudies and other walk-ons, I just don't think that this is true. 90-whatever percent of our scholarship players 20 years ago grew up dreaming of playing in the NFL and just viewed college football as a pitstop. Same as today.

Even the lowest 3 star players come in as freshmen thinking that they'll play in the NFL one day, just because they were such bad asses in high school and so many people have told them that they will play in the NFL one day.

Right I'm not saying otherwise or arguing against it. My point was that decades ago guys that had NFL aspirations would use that as one in a laundry list of reasons to come here but they would also generally have a whole bunch of reasons. One of which seemingly was that they'd grown up georgia fans. Nowadays most guys worth a damn that come here are going to do so because of how mcuh we can pay them.
