Seeing these players making such expensive choices reminds me of coming back from a deployment and seeing all these expensive cars parked in the barracks parking lot. Privates and apparently these young players make stupid choices with their money.

No doubt. I know a guy who has a MWR job in Germany which does not have any limitation on how long he can work OCONUS. He has ran what amounts to a pawn shop on that base for about 25 years. Young soldiers get paid, blow their money at a bar and a brothel in one night and then pawn everything they own to make it next payday. Back when re-enlisted bonuses were pushing $30k those young men would be broke within a week and old boy would have their Beamer sitting in his yard waiting for them to bring the title.

I've been making over six figures for 15 years now. Not fkoff money, as they say, but my kids have new shoes.

And never once, ever, have I bought a new car. And never have I had a car payment.

I buy a car for cash when it's five years old and drive it for five (in the old days I'd buy a ten year old car and drive it for five). Then in five years I buy another 'new' five year old car, and so on and so on.

I usually lose about 20 percent in five years. So if I bought it for 25K, I sell it for 20K.

If this gummy arse-face actually bought this car brand new, he's an idiot.
