using NIL when they get on campus is not the same as using NIL before they even get there..
Kids, their parents, their agents and everyone associated with the top talented prospects already have their NIL deals in place before the kid ever signs with a school. This is evidenced by the flip flopping these recruits are doing, they are signing with the highest bidder. Its a glorified slave auction with high stakes getting into the millions.

In some cases this is true, but there are plenty of situations where agents are leveraging to be able to wave offers in front of another collective to get a counter-offer from the collective at the school where the kid really wants to attend. But alas, if the other collective doesn't match or come close, the first offer is often winning out these days.

This is partly why Saban was not happy with the Learfield deal. Alabama set up Learfield as a contract service to run an on-campus opportunity center. A middle man situation on top of Alabama also requiring to review and approve all NIL deals. Saban found himself at a disadvantage in several situations because of a lack of control due to the slower process / red-tape involved.
