That didn’t take long. Bamas new coach seems to think the rules are different for him and Bama. That was true when Saban was there, but he isn’t there anymore. Looks like he is gonna need a lawyer. Maybe UT can recommend someone.

It has nothing to do with getting special treatment in regards to the rules and everything to do with knowing how to use the rules to your own advantage.

And it's not a complicated thing, I'm 100% sure Kirby knows it as well. You just have to constantly show you have institutional control. And when it comes to stuff like this, it means you self report it, throw on self punishment like 1 week no texting recruits or whatever which is much less than the NCAA would give, etc.

There will be no investigation, they will not be around looking to uncover other unrelated things, they will not punish the school at all. It will be a footnote on the back end of some article.

Saban is still around, Alabama still knows the drill. I'd be shocked if anything came of this.
