For anyone that doesn't know Ladd's story-

He grew up in North Georgia close to the Tennessee border and actually grew up a Tennessee fan.

Tennessee never offered him. In fact, two weeks before his signing day, he had zero P5 offers.

Then one day UGA dropped a scholarship offer on him. He committed instantly. Then Vanderbilt took notice and offered him. And I think a couple other P5's started to offer.

He had accepted that he'd end up at UT-Chattanooga.

After he got and accepted his offer to UGA, he and his HS coaches started getting blown up by all these FCS schools recruiting him, saying you'll never see the field at UGA, you'll just be a scout team meat grinder guy.

Fast Forward- he's got two NC rings and is one of the top receivers in the upcoming draft.

Kirby used to say that when he would watch video of some of the defensive players that Georgia was looking at, there was an offensive receiver that consistently showed up on the videos who was able to beat some of the best DB talent in Georgia.

McConkey played several positions, including some QB, so he wasn't an obvious stand out at any one skill set.

During the Orange Bowl game he was set up to throw a pass to Cash Jones and was forced to scramble. He ran the entire width of the field and punched it in for a TD. McConkey is simply hard to square up.
