re: SEC Baseball Tournament will expand to 16 teams in 2025

Have mixed feelings because this tournament is almost perfect. Starts at single, then goes to 8-team double elimination, then back to single.
The worst aspect is the inviting all 16 teams. It is always fun seeing a few teams fighting to at least make the conference tourney.
The positive:
-When a national seed just wants to go home and prep for regional, but they have to take 2 loses to go.
-When a team just needs “one more SEC win” to get into the regionals but then they have to take 2 more losses because the win for them into the double-elimination portion.

Exactly, just keep winning and you’re still playing, lose and if you don’t belong then so be it no matter which one of us it is. Participation trophies suck.
