That dude was our best recruiter. I think when he committed, he actively recruited several high-level guys that eventually came along with him.

I think he would have as well. Saban really wanted him to play in the secondary, like really, really wanted him at corner. He wanted to be a WR and couldn't break through. By the time he made the move back to defense, Saban had recruited a killer secondary and he was too far behind to see the field. He ended up transferring to South Alabama to finish out his career. Ended up at safety as well, just like Saban had wanted. I wonder what would have happened to his career had he made the move to the secondary and committed to it. He'd probably have recently wrapped up an NFL career.
