It will be great if we make the playoffs, but I think we all need to be prepared for the possibility that we don’t. We have a very tough schedule this year with road games at Wisconsin, Tennessee, LSU, and Oklahoma and home games against Georgia, Missouri, and those booger eating mouth breathing rednecks from Lee County. And I’m every single team we play will view us as weaker and vulnerable, so we will get everyones A Game, not that we haven’t in the past.

So it’s going to be a tough season, and if we don’t make the playoffs in the first year with a new coach and new system we can’t freak out and start calling for pitchforks, torches, and for heads to roll.

Yeah, it was obviously much more of a rebuild, but Saban went 7–6 (and lost to Louisiana Monroe) that first season.

On a positive note, we have a much better team talent composite than Saban had in 2007 or even KD had last season, and nothing really on film.

In other words, for the first time in a long time, we've got elite athletes running new concepts that may be able to catch folks by surprise in certain situations.

So it wouldn't shock me if maybe we did a little better than expected and also a little worse at times. Could be both exhilarating and frustrating.
