I saw a stat that said the last #1 team to win the CWS was Miami in 1999, so I would rather not be #1 at the end of the season.

Nothing inherently wrong with the #1 seed.
If we're going off past results, I'd rather avoid being Texas A&M than avoid being the #1 seed.
