Neuheisel also mentioned that there may be a tampering investigation into Texas

I believe 100 percent this happened.. But NCAA isn't going down the road to seize players phone records and after the Freeze issue at OM... If coaches are using school phones... Then they are just stupid. So color me shocked if anything happens

Would be pretty ballsy for Alabama to do also. See Mack Brown/Drake Mayes convo a year ago...

This is an interesting point because the NCAA CANT seize phone records. They have no subpoena power. They aren't an entity that can compel anyone to do anything. They are an entity established by member schools to 'enforce' a set of rules.

However, if an institution chooses not to cooperate. They can't compel people to produce evidence, testify, etc like a court can.

Look at North Carolina a few years ago amid the cheating scandal. They kept their mouths shut and there wasn't much the NCAA could do because they had no one voluntarily coming forward to provide evidence.

Look at Michigan this year. They did the same. All there were basically were allegations. There was no one to come forward and corroborate and make statements in support of any of the accusations. That's why the NCAA hasn't done anything yet. The NCAA is a toothless tiger if an institution under investigation doesn't cooperate.

On the flipside, look at Tennessee with the Jeremy Pruitt deal. They pissed down their leg at the opportunity to bury Pruitt so that they wouldn't have to buyout his contract and it worked wonderfully for them.
