This dude on the UGA rivals board posted this in early December. If this dude knew, obviously a shitton of people at ESPN know and I'm SURE that everyone of importance inside teh bama athletic facility knew.

I totally agree with you that the shitty state of CFB today probably helped drive the decision, but there aint no way someone as detail oriented as saban just decided a few weeks ago to hang it up. I'm sure the proper important people that needed to know have known for a long time.

I have a tough time believing this.

A. Some random guy on a message board.
B. ESPN couldn't keep this quiet if it were true.
C. Saban wouldn't have inked a contract while he was preparing for a playoff game. Think about that for a minute. Contract negotiations while preparing to face the #1 team in the country? Saban? That just didn't happen.
