There are 23 in the portal but 20 were in the portal before Saban retired so that was happening anyway so no big losses.

I know Bama fans tend to be delusional. But you think losing 23 players to the portal is “no big loss”?

Without concerning myself with looking up our normal churn, it feels pretty normal to me. You can go figure out if it is abnormal for me if you want because I am not concerned enough to do the leg work. Getting Bond out the portal is the only thing I think is worth fretting over...

Do the math. BAMA recruited well north of 25 recruits each year. BAMA now is adding transfers and has 3 so far. Coach Saban stated more was coming. Now, somebody has got to go and I mean a lot. Nothing new. Before the magic portal, the same was just as true and teams called it cutting the players. Now we give it a more humane term and try to make it sound like it's all the player's idea.

Teams are still cutting players because we all have to get down to 85. Thems the rules. Letting players know to get into the magic portal just sounds better.

Plenty of table scraps for third rate programs like Auburn and Ole Miss to feast on.

There are only two that we would want to keep. One is Bond but it's not certain he is actually leave, he is talking to Texas but we will see. The other is non-player T-Rob because he was a great recruiter but it's no loss from a coaching stand-point. As I stated the others were already told by Saban to basically hit he bricks before he even announced.
