I never said it was a bad hire. The hire isn’t bad. It’s the portal I don’t like. And if the rules stay the way they are, one day when your team has a coach leave you’ll feel the anxiety too.

In all seriousness, Saban harped on this stuff quite a bit. Not sure what exactly the future of CFB has in store, but it’s been out of control for a couple years now.
There’s a thread on tRant discussing whether a team could legally use NIL for walk-ons as a workaround on scholarship limits & the conclusion was “don’t see why not”.
