Take this with a grain of salt, but a buddy of mine just called me. He writes about college football and knows Chris Low. He talked to Low after the fact and Low told him the candidates were:
1. Sark
2a. DeBoer
2b. Norvell

this may have already been discussed.
did byrne hire coach D's entire non coach staff? seen on some video in a group of videos i watched. said he wanted to keep the continuity.

You know why EVERY one hires Jimmy Sexton? Because he is the coaching agent Oprah " you get a raise"..."Norvell you get a raise".
I would think that Norvell was on the list...how seriously though because I think ( with out evidence) that DeBoer was a much higher priority. But I also don't think Sexton would be unethical ( and ruin his relationships with schools) to go to FSU and lobby for a raise for Norvell.... throwing Bama's name in the mix, without it actually being true...to some degree
