The third and fourth best teams in the SEC this year won 11 games each. The SEC had five teams win 10+ games this season alone.

The third and fourth best teams in the Big 12 won 10 and 9 games each. The Big 12 had three teams win 10+ games this year.

We can debate strength of conference, but the fact of the matter is there are more (and better) top end teams in the SEC than there are in the Big 12. I'll take our best five against the Big 12's best five any day of the week.

I understand this argument, but I think scheduling is a big reason for this success.

The Big 12 plays 9 league games, which means more losses for all teams. In addition, I'm not comparing the Big 12 today vs the SEC. I know the SEC is stronger right now.

I'm comparing the SEC the last 12 years vs the Big 12 before A&M, Nebraska, Missouri & Colorado left. The Big 12 was a lot better league back then than they are today.

Texas has sucked the last 12 years. It doesn't matter if we played in the WAC or SEC or some other league. We would have still sucked.

Likewise, if Texas from 2000-2009 had played in the SEC or Big 12 or some other league, Texas would have still had a really good team.

The schedule makes a big difference.
