All came before Brian Kelly. Holz's last season was only a few years before Kelly came on the scene.

Like 15 years

As for his successor? Seriously? Ok. He has gone 9-4 and 9-3. Kelly has gone 10-3 and 10-4. Looks pretty even to me

I mean if you leave out the fact that Kelly took over a .500 team and Freeman took over a playoff contender, then yeah, they're pretty even.

That qualifies as a predecessor, right? I mean, you act like 15 years is a lifetime. It isn't. LSU went 45 years in between titles at one point. (1958-2003) and 12 years in between another title. (2007-2019) Did that mean LSU was incapable of winning another title or was somehow a bad program? My guess is no, that is not what it meant.

(Georgia went 42 years in between. We got the right coach and all of a sudden we won two straight.)

Wait. I thought ND had no won a major bowl game in 30 years and was not a good team. Now, all of a sudden those results are ok since Kelly was the coach?

For the record, I think Kelly is a good coach and while he might not be a great recruiter, he does not have to be. He seems to get a lot out of his players. Not every coach is going to recruit like a Saban or Smart. Kelly had 12 years at ND. If he was that great coach he would have won at least a major bowl. He is a good coach. A solid coach. He may even win a title at LSU. But he is not a great coach.

Hey. In his third year at ND he played for the National Championship. Maybe he will do the same with LSU. You have a great offense, and it looks as if he is taking steps to improve the defense. If he has a fault, he seems to be overly loyal to coaches who underperform. (Maybe last seasons failure on defense has cured him of that)
