That site in your link is the same site that said we should bring back Gene Chizik and Gus Malzahn as coordinators. And that if Gus wouldn't come back we should hire Dabo as a coordinator.

I believe 90% of the articles posted there are AI generated.

The likely reason has very little to do with Caddy or his relationship with Freeze. Most likely Freeze wants to hire Derrick Nix as his OC and Nix coaches RBs. Without being the play caller the OC needs to coach a position group. Makes Caddy the odd man out.

Freeze is probably working on helping Caddy find another job so he doesn’t have to fire him because of how poorly that will sit on the home crowd. But Freeze wants his own guys in these Coordinator roles this time.
