That’s a great view of that play. From that clip, I’m wondering now if Roberts was supposed to help 81 on blocking out #8 to open up that hole. It would explain why they didn’t bother blocking #0 & why Milroe committed to that spot so quickly. If Roberts does help kick out #8 in that hole, it’s an open hole for Milroe. May never know, but it makes more sense.
* also would explain why we’d have a mauler like Roberts pulling that close to the goal line. Him pulling all the way across to that side for a seal block doesn’t make much sense.

Milroe was supposed to follow him but he was clearly confused about the play call.

Everything about the play indicates it was designed to go left, but after Milroe takes the snap his first look was to the right, and then right up the middle... never looked left which is where all the options were, and the 320lb guard that was there to lead him into the endzone.
