Saban was the one that always said the QB had to "win the team."
Saban has always said that. It was not some idea he floated last year to justify starting Milroe, like some claim. Chip Kelly just said the same thing about the OSU QB situation. He said the players "always know". I don't know that I agree with that, but I would go with them over fans.

Some think that I'm a "Milroe cheerleader" but I would personally prefer Simpson because IMO, JM has the worst instincts of any major college QB I can remember. No feel in the pocket, doesn't take advantage of running opportunities, can't operate the read option, and doesn't read the field well. But to continue to harp on the same things, to blame everything on him, to invent conspiracy theories about the team, to not give the coaches the benefit of the doubt, to never or rarely give him credit for the good things he brings and does - it is tough to take. Yes, coaches don't always get it right but they have to consider many things of which the fans are not aware.

To publicly tear down an Alabama player is unsavory business - especially one who is such an enthusiastic and good representative of the program.

Discussing facts is not tearing down.

They are now paid to play on top of it

If they can't take that they should run home to Mommy.

Haven't seen that video of the Penn St QB have you?

The problem is that for all his flaws we were one play away from playing for it all. It's no different than the QB on the bench is always better than the starter trope. People stuck on what ifs. The kid's in Crimson, I'll back him until he graduates or coach puts someone else in. Doesn't mean I won't criticize him. Hell, Julio couldn't catch an easy pass to save his life in college but could do a double reverse somersault, land on one foot while snacking on a Little Debby for a TD. All part of the fun.
