quote:

Adopting the Muslim faith is NOT something I approve our players doing.

Muslim, Islam, Sunni, Shia, Christian, Christianity, The Way...

It is not my place to approve of or disapprove of the way "our" players or anyone else chooseto worship or whom they choose to worship. They are not "our" players.

I am a Christian by my own choosing. I was raised in a Christian home. But I do not have the right to make or approve of that peronal choice for anyone else. I do have the right to state and share my beliefs as well as the why behind those beliefs.

As to what does or does not have a place in an online conversation about sports... My beliefs and My Lord are part of me and thus should be a part of everything that I do, including my online conversations.

If anyone here does not like my takes / opinions on anything, I have no issue with that. It does not alter what I believe or how I choose to express those views.

What I find inappropriate, and this was my initial point, is anyone thinking they have the right to control or stymie conversation just because they don’t care for the subject. So a post was made with a link to an article about certain players on the team and the subject of article happened to be about the Muslim faith, which isn’t necessarily a common topic, but it isn’t unusual. Then someone made a comment about the article and that comment also included comments about the Christian faith, again not necessarily a common topic, but it isn’t that unusual and certainly not something so out of bounds that deserves some dipshit trying to police comments.
