Yes, we sucked in that game and still nearly won with 6 turnovers.

A bit of context for you. OU is a very young team right now. The incoming class is top 6 and a lot of talent to be infused next year. And the next. QB was in his first start.

OU went from 6-7 to 10-3 in one year after Riley decimated the program. The future looks good.

We are SEC ready, taking from Bama comments in a prior bowl game “we didn’t want to be there”. Isn’t that how it works?

We’ll be fine and Jackson can sling the ball. The fumble six changed the game. Go up 31-13 but it turns to 24-21. Everything that went wrong is coachable and fixable.

We had 1 QB and no real servicable backup. We had 2 RBs and Sawchuk got dinged up so they reduced his runs afterwards. Our other RB is a walkin who is in the portal but still played. Thats all the depth we had at RB and its why we passed so much. And our oline is not what you will see next year, all but 2 were making first starts and our center got hurt early so then it was 4 of 5 newbies. And a new OC who had to use existing system not his.

All that said and only the turnovers cost game. We had 562 yards to their 383. Amazing to get that many with 6 turnovers.

Bad way to lose but amazing to be in a game and have the win at our grasp in 3rd qtr, if not for fumble 6.

Bowl games these days are all wild cards due to portal and NIL. Not like old days, its basically a one-off game with so many mew faces. But some teams had very few losses like Arizona so that helps them with consistency.

Get yer jokes in but we’ll be ready next year with another top class.
