In 2021 it was 71%

That is great to see, especially with how much money these kids are paying per semester. It was a scam and I am grateful that they put value over quantity.

LSU must be the Harvard of Louisiana by now?

Engineering has, and forever shall be, an invitation after 2 years of Calculus I, II and III, if that is what you mean. You have to move the pendulum at a certain Hall on Campus.

Keep it up and Auburn may no longer be universally known as the SEC safety school

This is incorrect, but I understand why Auburn is parroting it. Incredibly deceiving, but is now being published by every outlet.

The 44% was their acceptance rate for the Early Application period. Their overall acceptance rate will remain between 70-80% as it always has.

The only requirement for acceptance is if the student can throw toilet paper or not.

Lower numbers all around. State and National. Auburn basically said that "we are full." The city, in general, can't take an expansion at the moment.

To clarify, they received 48,000 freshman applications, and 44% of those were approved during the early application process. The rest will be filtered & accepted during the early spring like every other college in America.

If true, I applaud the Auburn administration. So often, colleges are focused on the money that comes from expansion, as well as the accompanying prestige. At some point, there is a carrying capacity - or a preservation of culture - that demands a stop to infinite growth. Without a serious proactive, not reactive, effort to expand, it can quickly become a shitshow.

I look at my beloved Boone and cry.

Well, I just posted a link to your own university, with a quote from Auburn’s Vice President of Enrollment.

quote:

The university’s 2023 early action decisions extend from October to January, with regular decisions being announced in March.

This is why they published that number though. Their own graduates & fans aren’t smart enough to comprehend what they’re reading, and they know these national ranking websites won’t be either.

It was a clever strategy.

ETA: I also challenge the intelligence of anyone who believes a University would go from a historic 70-80% acceptance rate to a 44% acceptance rate over the course of one academic school year. That is an absurd notion.

"An applicant's high school class rank and letters of recommendation are not considered by admissions officials at Auburn University."

That is a relief. Only GPA and Tests. Finally.

Sounds like Alabama is harder to get into than Auburn?
