I can’t remember the year, but I remember the end of a Notre Dame game in the early 70s. The reason I remember it is they showed this logo on TV…



… and it scared the shite out of me. I think it was because we’d recently watched Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and these little frickers…



… freaked me out. The reason they freaked me out so bad is I asked my momma what happened to all the other children at the factory and she told me the Oompah Loompas ate them. I had to be like, at best maybe 4 or 5 years old.

Ken Hatfield's punt return for Arkansas to beat Texas, 1964(?).

I was of a single digit age.

Black and white local broadcast, using rabbit ears to get the signal.
