Here’s a question. Who buys stuff based on what a college kid says? Or anyone really? I buy based on product value and personal need or desire. frick Dr. Pepper, tastes like shite.

people do buy things based on endorsements, or companies who have to justify marketing expenditures with actual sales woudl not use spokespeople. I mean, just look at Jordan shoes. They are no better than any other athletic shoes but people but them because of the MJ association (originally, now they are kind of their own thing). If NIL were operating legitimately you would see the top level of college athletes with actual name recognition getting millions of dollars on nationwide ad campaigns, and from there the amounts would drop off precipitously based on name recognition and regional appeal. The lesser known athletes would be getting a couple thousands from local businesses in their home towns where they are a big deal.
