He did not start out disastrously, he had one bad game, two bad throws. Even in that game, he brought Alabama back twice on his arm when UTx took the lead or was stretching the lead.

Throwing two costly picks in the biggest game of the regular season and then getting benched in favor of Tyler Buchner against South Florida is about as bad of a start as I could have possibly dreamed of for whoever won the starting job.

Sugar coat it however you want, but Milroe was a liability in the Texas game. I was never Team Milroe or Team Simpson, I was Team Best Guy; however, after the Texas game I wasn't sad to find out that Milroe wouldn't be starting the South Florida game. Though after the pitiful play of the team in Tampa that afternoon, I realized that Milroe was our best shot to have a solid season.

I'm glad he proved his doubters wrong and led this team to a SEC title and CFP berth, however let's not act like we went through the absolute worst case scenario there at the beginning of the season.

Not sugar-coating anything, just stating an opposing point of view.

His two ints were bad throws and directly led to 10 points - not disputing that. My point is that IMO, things were not as bad as some of his critics opined - certainly not disastrous. It was a bad game because of the ints and the loss to which they contributed. But many players have thrown 2 or more ints in a game without many in their fan base acting as though they committed a capital crime. In this game, Jalen also did good things that were ignored and IMO, it was not time to throw him under the bus. This view has been more than validated.
