This was quite the coaching job by Nick Saban this year...

We knew replacing Bryce Young would be exceedingly difficult, so difficult in fact Saban brought in a transfer QB in Tyler Buchner to spice up the competition at the position. He started against South Florida and might have had the worst performance by a starting QB at Alabama since Spencer Pennington suited up for the Tide back in 2004. He's now in the transfer portal as a lacrosse player.

Despite all of that, Alabama *still* won the SEC and made the playoffs.

You do know that Nick is retiring, huh? And gunna be hard to find a coach that is good and wants to follow a legend.

The difference between Bama being in the playoffs and not being in the playoffs are a freakish Hail Mary, a dropped punt, and a season ending injury for Jordan Travis. None of that was coached (unless the dude who hit Travis was a Bama transfer, I didn’t see it happen).

At the time, I created a thread about The MGM Grand in Vegas having a +5000 bet against a Bama natty.

I think that SEC officials bought in and were trying to make it happen.

At fifty to one I would've bet big but in Georgia that bet is illegal. Something was fishy about that line.

Saban obviously has done a phenomenal job like he always does. But in reality the team should be at this level. Bama is at a minimum top 3 in recruiting every year. If they aren't talented and deep then these high 4 star and 5 stars aren't being developed. Hats off to him as for the continuous recruiting success. Replacing Young of course is a challenge but that's the opposite of a bare cupboard.

I could coach that team by buying a roster

And having the refs cheat for me.
