I mean they’d be #1 if not for Saban’s age. He shows no signs of slowing but age doesn’t lie. It’s only a matter of time.

Current situation as it portends to the future.
A “current situation” would just be the SEC standings as they look today. But when you look at where programs are headed you have to take in all info.
Saban is 72. Kirby is 47. That is a current situation.
Give me a 47-year old who’s won 2 of the last 3 National titles over a 72-year old won the most recent one any day of the week. I think most unbiased fans would agree.
