yall made a fantastic move by going to the SEC. Yall knew you had no business being in the PAC, and you forged your own path.
Who knows how it all wouldve shaken out, but Texas is extremely excited to join the SEC and yall leaving like you did made it way easier for Texas to ditch the Big 12.
I dont consider yall the same program from before. Texas is coming for you, but it wont be quite like it used to be because yall did your own deal, which deserves some respect.

I have to give TAMU this: they were so valuable to the SEC that Slive was willing to take fricking Missouri too.
That said, TAMU should've gone along with the PAC move and then left after 5 years. Texas/OU would be stranded out there forever.

TAM and Mizzou were months apart. The Mizzou invite was a back door deal to land a congruent state with the most TV sets that had no roadblocks and would not refuse the offer. Mizzou just wanted a decent, stable home without UT politics. Nobody at Mizzou thought SEC was even a remote possibility but we had what each other wanted at the time.

No doubt. Slive was striking out left and right looking for a partner for TAMU.
Eventually it was closing time at the bar, the lights came on, and there was Missouri, vomit on her blouse and all. The rest is history.
