Any success the Team has they treat it as though it’s their own personal success. Conversely, anything negative that happens to the Team, be it as something as big as a loss or minor as a negative comment from a fan of another team, and they lose their shite. This subset of the SEC fan base, and it’s sizable, has literally nothing else in their life to give them true joy and a sense of accomplishment. So they use (SEC team) as a substitute.
