That rivalry is hype. Bigger fan bases at those schools so more magnified but that type of hate is def what it’s like for Oregon vs UW and vice versa

I assume that you are talking about Oklahoma vs Texas?

If you are then there is something you need to know. The equidistant location, the atmosphere of a state fair, the fact that about twice as many people go to the fair and watch the game on TV at the fair, and the fact that Dallas is full of people who come there that weekend just for the party makes it unique.

But what makes it different than any other game is the way they split the stadium. With the stadium split at the 50 each team is playing a "home" game on one side of the field and an "away" game on the other. FLA/UGA split the stadium in the end zone. Which give an entirely different dynamic to the crowd noise. It is more neutral.

The other thing about that game that is unique is that it is more "state vs. state" than school vs. school. The dynamic is similar to Oregon and Washington in that you have one state that thinks it is a lot better than the other.

I won't argue about whether Oklahoma vs. Texas is "the best" rivalry. But it is the most unique.
