I'll say this, you can legitimately say "our kids didn't want to be there" if they all literally decide not to be there.

We lost our entire offensive staff the week of our bowl game against Texas (ef u Heupel) and lost. Nobody remembers that.
Then the last 3 bowl loses to Wake Forest, Ok St and Army we were missing half our time and on backup QBs. Nobody cares, just that we lost.
If we play and bear Ohio states walk ons they can eat it. There is nothing in the record book but a loss.
