Thought about this a lot lately. The Bowl process, the BCS, and the CFP are all reiterations of the same thing: all star selection at the local ball park. The dads with the pull get their kids on the team and little Johnny with the dad on the late shift job gets hosed. The system is in place to benefit those people and not the rest of us. Every now and then, we get a crumb thrown our way, but it's an illusion.
There's a reason why every other collegiate sport has a playoff and there's a reason why D1 football doesn't. You'll hear all kinds of reasons about money, logistics, injuries, schedules, blah, blah, blah. At the end of the day, it's about money and control. I can't wait for a D1 football playoff. It's long, long overdue......

The only difference between the football playoffs and the basketball playoffs is that 60 more teams get in the basketball playoffs. Every year, basketball teams get screwed. Certain conferences are deemed to be better conferences; certain wins are deemed to be better wins.
Penn State was the #8 team in the Big Ten and had a .500 record. And they got a spot in the playoffs.
At least a third of the teams that get in the NCAA basketball tournament have no business being in the playoffs...the occasional upset not withstanding. Penn State was the definition of mediocre in their conference. WTF???
Your team has played in two championship games since 2010. You call that crumbs?

Me too. The bluebloods are going to exert their dominance more than ever before.
If you had the 12 team playoff for Saban's entire tenure, Alabama would be on their 12th straight trip and would have made 14 out of the last 15 - and that's assuming they didn't get a low seed invite in 2010.

You realize FSU got in over Miami during the BCS after Miami beat them head to head.
Maybe this is karma for FSU.
