Someone help me out with Oregon. I don't really understand how they are so high with so few quality wins. I guess the AP & Coaches polls are propping them up?

Before you say this isn't relevant, I believe I saw where the four playoff teams have matched the top four of the simulated BCS every single year.

It would be interesting to see how much of a bump we'd get by beating UGA. I'd guess fairly significant. Still don't know that we'd catch Oregon, though, if they beat Washington.

We should we'd have the better win (Georgia over Washington)

and the better loss (Texas over Washington)

AND more wins against ranked teams

I’ll say this seeing us at 8 in BCs poll makes me feel better that the current ranking isn’t based on Alabama fatigue or regional bias. Look if Alabama beats Georgia and doesn’t make the playoffs I can live with it because we actually got to see a team who improved throughout the season and most are coming back. Beating Georgia whether they win the NC or not would mean Bama did everything they could to prevent a 3 peat. I’d be good with it assuming Bama comes out and destroys the bowl opponent setting up great momentum for next season

Don't get me wrong. This season has been a blast as a fan and this team has done enough for me to be happy with the season. Don't mean that to be defeatest, though, and I think we are still capable of beating anyone. But to possibly go 12-1, win the SEC, and get left out of the playoff? That would be tough. It's just been a weird year nationally.

The BCS is so poll weighted that the computer average is basically only a tie breaker. In the 3 computer averages I looked up we were 4, 6, and 7.

Well 2/3 of the simulated BCS rankings is made up of the current human rankings so …

Computer rankings love Oregon too. Lopsided margin of victory over bad teams is outweighing strength of schedule.

College football nerds made a point in their last recap vid that their model and most power ratings are unable to account for teams that play incredibly soft schedules and they get overrated.

We should have never fallen so far after the UCF game. We've been put in the penalty box and brought out last.
