Saban will pass on to glory with a losing record to Tubberville, Spurrier, Barry Alvarez, Lloyd Carr, Hayden Fry, Tom Osborne, and Joe Tiller. Does that really affect his legacy? Heck no, he’s the GOAT.
At 47 years old, Kirby has a better career winning percentage than Saban (.860 to .803). He’s won 2 NC, and has another 4 years to win his 3rd or more before the age that Saban won his first.
For all the bluster of the muh hurt WR, AL was a lot closer to losing to UGA in 17 & 18 than they were to beating UGA in Indy….which would have Saban’s record against Smart at 2-3…AND this all occurred in the apex of Saban’s run.
Saban’s legacy is established and untarnished. AND it’s simultaneously disingenuous to suggest, Smart has anything to prove.
