It's no secret the team started to get better once Jalen settled in.

Tommy Rees should get a ton of credit for the way he approached Jalen and told him to identify the things he was uncomfortable running and subsequently tossed that shite in the dumpster.

Seeing a young coach and a young player figure stuff out together like that makes me smile.

Couldn't agree more. This is where I think BoB failed miserably. He had no offensive creativity, and simply hurled the entire offense on Bryce's shoulders. BoB with Milroe would have been a disaster of Milroe standing in the pocket trying to go through 4-5 reads per play, and getting sacked constantly. Rees has done a phenomenal job of breaking the game down for Jalen, giving him 2-3 quick reads in the same area of the field, and then allowing him to use his athleticism. You can tell Milroe is more comfortable in the pocket, because he STEPS UP in the pocket. He doesn't loop around the outside of the pocket and run out of bounds for a 10 yard loss anymore. Hopefully he keeps progressing and Rees can keep adding more creative ways to help him succeed.
