I think if UGA had played the schedule you'll likely have next year, you probably have a loss by now. This current team is different from the one in weeks 1-4.

Think having super conferences means you can't take off a month and expect to run the table anymore. But it also means that running the table doesn't mean as much, other than making sure you get a bye.

losing one or two games starting next year won’t matter in a 12 team playoff

You might not be wrong. There were enough new moving parts on this team to suggest that UGA, in order to be great, was going to have to grow into greatness. The flip side of that coin is that, without the luxury of the schedule, maybe the team grows up faster out of necessity. We can't know, either way.

I won't be mad at this analysis.
