One of these lower bowls should invite them anyway instead of some 5-7 team and just call it an exhibition game.

Both them and Jax State are going bowling as long as there are not enough 6-6 teams which there is not going to be. They wanted the waiver to play in a big bowl and their conference championship game. So, instead of possibly playing in the Cotton they are going to get the Mobile or something like that.

If they aren't enough teams with 6 wins, those transitioning to FBS become eligible if they're in year 2 of the process. Jacksonville State is in the same situation.

This rule has been around for a very long time and programs know about it when they start the process. It didn't sneak up on them. Bitching about it now is pretty low class.
