Exactly. People misinterpret the “best job” part. This isn’t a ranking of your program or how much you’re getting paid or how much you can pay recruits. It’s about expectations, external pressure and potential.
The Aggies see themselves as a perennial powerhouse and expect those types of results, when they haven’t won even a conference title in 25 years. Now you’ve got Texas and OU added into the conference you’ve never won.
The money is great, but you’ve got Sky high expectations and tons of booster pressure to win a conference with quite a few better programs.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Aggy couldn’t pull Elko for this exact reason. If Duke can come remotely close to the money, it’s a much easier path and much less pressure.
