Sometimes A&M has the best team and other times is not even top 3 in state. Same for the horns. Y'all are trying way too hard to prove some silly talking point. It's pretty pathetic actually.

We're talking historically all time here, not a year here or there.

The thing that the #2 or below teams in a state don't always realize is that even when they win the head to head matchup or end the season ranked higher, they're still the #2 program in the state.

GT has finished ranked higher than UGA before and beaten them. GT has never been the #1 program in Georgia. Even if UGA goes 0-12, they'll still be THE football program for the state.

This involves booster spending, recruit interest, national fan interest, state government investment, facilities, historic relevance, past results, national profile, money and a slew of other factors. It doesn't change because of how things go one season or even a string of five to ten seasons. It is almost impossible for it to shift.

The simplest way to look at it is how an OOC game looks on the schedule 10 years out. Michigan will look like a better opponent than MSU, even if MSU is coming off a playoff year where Michigan was average (that happened a few years ago). Alabama will look like a better opponent than Auburn. And yes, Texas will always look like a better opponent than A&M.
